My father-in-law is a humanist and is dying of cancer. He wants a humanist officiant to speak at his funeral in southern Minnesota. Any ideas for a speaker?

Hennepin County Judge Dan Mabley. He did my wedding back in 2004. He does weddings as a "side job", so he has scripts and things to choose from. He came out to Brooklyn Park for ours, so I assume he'll go to wherever your wedding will be. He was great! We got a lot of complements. And he was dirt cheap (at the time). And he is a very well-respected judge, if that matters.

Me too! I am also getting married in Minnesota and having a very hard time finding a secular officiant. Our wedding is 10/9/10. Any advice would be SO appreciated!

Humanists of Minnesota,
Hello, my name is Andrew Brandel, I am a Humanist living in Minneapolis (although, not associated with any local chapters, but am a Bright) and currently searching for a Humanist officiant for my wedding next year. Every site that I have found thus far has listed off "open-minded ministers", but something makes me uncomfortable about this.
Would Humanist of Minnesota have a list of officiants? I told my fiance I would track one down; the wedding isn't until 9/24/10, so there is still time, but we would really like to begin finalizing details.

Thank you for your time,
Andrew Brandel
